Required equipment for Learn-to-Play, League Play (Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions), and Family Skate programs

Learn-to-Play & League Play
  • Stick
    • Determine the direction your child shoots in order to make sure the curve on the blade is going the right direction
    • Wrap hockey tape around the blade and the top of the stick
    • Size the stick to your child’s height: while standing on skates, the top should be around chin level
  • Helmet (CSA approved for Hockey) with protective “cage”
  • Neck Protector
  • Mouth guard – not mandatory but highly recommended.  
  • Shoulder Pads
  • Elbow Pads
  • Hockey Gloves
  • Hockey Pants
  • Jock (or Jill for a girl).  You can buy a version that has the protective cup integrated into shorts which also have Velcro to hold the socks up
  • Shin Pads
  • Hockey socks
    • Players in League Play will receive new socks at the first game, but must supply their own for the Assessment night
    • Learn-to-Play players must supply their own socks for the entire season
  • Skates
  • Hockey Jersey
    • Players in League Play will be given a jersey to wear for the Assessment night (please do not use your own) that must be returned afterwards. Team jerseys will be given out before the first game
    • Players in Learn-to-Play must supply their own jersey for the entire season
Family Skate

It is mandatory for all children to wear CSA-approved helmets, and is recommended for all participants
